Cool Bar

The COOLBar was designed to offer upgraded performance to crossflow towers using timbers slats or even the PVC slat.

Category:

Description

While the latter gives 20% higher efficiency than the former, the configuration of the COOLBar can accord a further performance increase of 20% within the same tower. Based on the same principle as that of other splash bars, the water droplets spread over the solid surface and perforated holes. The flowing water is held on the holes due to surface tension and forms a thin film. The water film formed over these pentagonal shaped holes has very low surface tension at its corners and thus a tendency to rupture frequently. During this process of rupturing the water film is broken into small globules, thus providing maximum heat transfer.

Features and Advantages

  • The low height of the COOLBar plays a significant role in causing lower pressure drop especially in case of installations where the fill is installed perpendicular to the airflow.
  • The larger base allows for much higher splash area compared to other small splash bars.
  • The quantum of splash fills needed for the same cooling can be reduced or with the same configuration the tower can be subject to higher duty load by replacing other polymer splash bars with the COOLBar
  • The COOLBar has been provided with notches on its arms for more secure fitment onto the wire mesh.
